Community
Aurora Spa Rituals, the signature product of Aurora Spa Retreat, is currently undergoing research as to the most appropriate charity to be aligned to the spa. All staff have been consulted so that the final decision on the charity chosen best reflects the green philosophies of the spa and the personal ideologies of the Aurora Team.
In the production of Aurora Spa Rituals product Aurora uses sheltered workshops for the disadvantaged when assembling boxes, applying stickers, packing etc. It is a small way in which we are able to support our community.
Ecological
Our EcoSpa Committee meets regularly, with members from all divisions within the spa, so as to continually look for the best means for reducing any negative impacts inadvertently effecting the environment.

Aurora is proactive in creating eco-conversations and tactics to improve our CSR both at work and at home.
Aurora's Benefit Scheme provides incentives based around awareness and action to enable CSR principles relevant to staff needs. Aurora encourages wellness for all staff. We provide our staff with naturopathic consultations at the onset of each winter, fresh organic fruit all year round, herbal teas and wellness incentives that are often treatment based to ensure are team remain happy and healthy.

Aurora Spa Rituals
Aurora's signature product range Aurora Spa Rituals is different by nature. Our products contain no synthetic fragrances, sulfates, pegs or parabens and are formulated with premium quality ingredients enriched with hand blended essential oils.
We only use 100% recyclable or reusable packaging made from environmentally accredited, chlorine free, forest managed paper. Our bottles are made from 100% PET recyclable plastic and our tubes from high and low density recyclable polyethylene.
It is our priority to continue to reduce the spa's environmental footprint. As a result, our sustainability practices involve continual monitoring of environmental factors. Aurora has developed its own Green Spa benchmarks to measure our improvements in sustainability practices.

- Installation of energy-efficient lighting and appliances where suitable
- Regular maintenance of taps, pipes, hoses and tanks
- Installation of water-restrictor taps and shower heads
- Appliances switched off at the power point at the end of the working day
- Use of water-based or plant-based and biodegradable cleaners wherever possible
- Disposal of any hazardous chemicals in a lawful manner in the least environmentally damaging way
- Promotion of recycling of office paper, printing cartridges, containers and packaging, email used where possible with the aim of trying to achieve a paperless office, and the purchase of recycled and biodegradable materials
- Regular updating of policies relating to the following key areas: green philosophies; water usage; electricity usage; environmentally friendly products, re-cycling and wellness for staff.
- A code of conduct amongst employees which addresses how to act ethically for the betterment of the planet and the community, encouraging staff development through sharing of environmental ideas
- All profits for the sale of Aurora Spa Rituals Pink gift cards go to The Breast Cancer Foundation.
- Suppliers are considered, and where possible chosen, based on their own CSR focus and how they match the Aurora philosophies and policies
- An employee/employer DSR recognised charity is in the process of being chosen to further give back to the community
- A laundry policy is in place, with constant monitoring and updating as advances in the area take effect. The policy aims to constantly seek to reduce water and power, to recycle where possible, and to always use as the first option, bio-degradable detergents and products. All Aurora laundry is processed in water efficient front load washers. Laundry is dried in gas fired dryers to reduce the amount of carbon emissions. Storage of grey water is strictly controlled for recycling and used for rinse cycles within 24 hours.
